Quantum information processing using atoms provides exciting opportunities in quantum computing as well as sensing. The experiment involves knowledge in modern optics, opto-electronics and control hardware and software. In quantum computing we are scaling up our ion trap setup to hold and manipulate larger ion number / qubits with full controlability. However, scaling up of these systems require coupling to photons as one of the realizations. In this respect we explore coupling to high luminosity single molecules.

Therefore if you want to take the challenge to learn and grow, you are most welcome to write to us. As an essential, you must have an undergraduate degree in physics or electrical engineering. Additional laboratory experience with atomic, molecular and optical sciences will be given priority.

Post-Doctoral research Fellow
Looking for an AMO physicist having experience in working with AMO systems. The project involves quantum simulation using 2D trapped ion systems. In particular, the candidate will be responsible for running the existing ion trap setup to implement concepts that has been developed within the group for the understanding of phase transitions and thermodynamics at the quantum scale.

This will be a 2-year project with opportunity to collaborate with theorists involved in the project.
